How claims move from research to publication at Unapologetically Dahling.

Manuscript pages tied with crimson thread
  1. The unit of verification is the claim.

An article is not fact-checked merely because a source list appears at the end. Every material factual sentence must be identified, reviewed and connected directly to the evidence supporting or qualifying it.

  2. What receives a footnote

    • Numbers, dates and named studies
    • Medical, legal, financial, safety and regulatory statements
    • Claims of cause, effectiveness, risk or consensus
    • Statements attributed to a person, company or institution
    • Fast-changing product, policy and market information
    • Facts essential to the article's verdict
  3. What does not need borrowed authority

Firsthand experience is labeled as firsthand experience. Interpretation is presented as interpretation. Opinion is owned by the editor. A citation should never be used to make judgment look more objective than it is.

  4. Source hierarchy

    1. Official records, regulators, statutes and original documentation
    2. Peer-reviewed original research and registered trials
    3. Original datasets, security disclosures and company filings
    4. High-quality systematic reviews and professional guidance
    5. Independent reporting that links to primary evidence
    6. Vendor studies, press releases and expert commentary, clearly attributed

Several articles repeating one press release do not count as independent confirmation.

  5. Claim outcomes

    Supported
Evidence matches the wording and scope.
    Qualified
A factual core exists, but context or limitations are required.
    Corrected
The published wording changed after evidence review.
    Unverifiable
A reliable original source could not be located.
    Outdated
The claim was once defensible but changed over time.
    Editorial
The statement is judgment, interpretation or personal experience.
  6. Correction policy

Material corrections are made in the article and recorded with the date, original issue, revised wording and source basis. Corrections are not silently hidden inside later edits. Typos and non-substantive style changes do not require a public correction note.

  7. Verification is time-bound

Product limits, laws, prices, availability, travel rules, safety guidance and platform behavior can change. Reviewed articles carry a verification date. Volatile claims receive a review-by date before production launch.

  8. AI-assisted research

AI may help identify candidate claims, discover sources and compare records. It is not accepted as evidence. Source documents are opened, evaluated and linked so a reader can reproduce the work.
