What we keep, and why.
This page is maintained by Alicia Dahling and describes how Unapologetically Dahling handles the information people give the site. It covers this site only, not the sites we link to.
Reading the site
You can read every essay without giving us anything. There is no account requirement, no paywall, and no tracking cookie set before you agree to one.
Analytics
We use Plausible for aggregate traffic counts, and only after you accept it in the consent banner. Plausible does not use advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. It tells us how many people read a page, roughly where in the world they are, and which link brought them. If you decline, the script is never loaded. You can change your answer by clearing this site’s stored settings in your browser.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date you signed up, and which page you signed up from. We use it to send essays and nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share the list. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends immediately.
The contact form
If you write to us, we store your name, your email address, and your message so we can reply and keep a record of the correspondence. We keep a short-lived count of recent submissions per sender to block spam.
Accounts and account email
Editorial accounts exist for people who work on the site. If you have one, we store your email address and sign-in records. Account emails, such as sign-in links and password resets, are sent only when someone asks for them.
Who processes this data
The site runs on Lovable Cloud, which provides hosting, the database, and authentication. Email is delivered through the sender domain notify.unapologeticallydahling.com. Plausible provides analytics when you have accepted it. These providers process data on our instruction so the site can function.
How long we keep it
Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Contact messages are kept while the conversation is useful and then removed on request. Aggregate analytics are not tied to an identifiable person.
Asking for your data or its deletion
Write to media@unapologeticallydahling.com or use the contact page and say what you want. Tell us the email address you used so we can find the right record. We will confirm when it is done.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update this page and note the change here.
